The objective was to create a 15 second video ad to be used on Facebook and Youtube. The goal was to reach targeted users that had never before heard of Slack.
Our team developed several storyboards to pitch to the client. They then passed the concepts out to the designers to illustrate. Below is the storyboard I designed for the pitch, which was ultimately selected. I drew references from past storyboard work we had done for Slack and worked closely under the Art Director.
The camera zooms out as the clutter continues to spin around. The globe pauses as four location pins pop up in different parts of the world.
The pins turn into 4 character icons that are gesturing and talking and trying to coordinate with each other amidst the chaos of files, messages and emails.
The Slack logo organizes the files, messages and emails into a clean conversation stream in the Slack Desktop UI.
We zoom out and see the full desktop UI as all the characters are now able to coordinate easily in the Slack channel.
We zoom out and see the Slack UI on the desktop of one of the characters as messages continue to pop up.
For this brief the objective was to create a 6 second Halloween Splash Screen that would appear before opening YouTube Kids. Our team developed and illustrated 6 concepts total for the client. The two storyboards below were my contributions to the project. All the illustrations were done in YTK’s illustration style, using characters previously developed.
Making a Mummy
We see a red bird come into frame with another roll of paper that unravels as it moves across the screen.
We cut to multiple rolls of paper that cover the entire screen. Some rolls go up while others fall down. All of them unravel more and more paper.
As we move to the side the camera also pans up to reveal part of the moon, which is hidden behind some night clouds.
